For information
Cllr Neville Shiggins (the Mayor-Elect of Penistone) has asked that the below be circulated an update regarding what the Mayor’s Parade is looking like so far :
The parade will start at midday at St Mary’s Church on Talbot Road (near the police station) and proceeds through the town up and around a mile route taking in a number of areas for the community to come out and watch and celebrate. It finishes at the Showground in Penistone (behind Tesco ) for a fun filled afternoon Gala with fun fair, food and drinks, craft stalls etc. etc. – which runs until around 16:30.
Up to now we are expecting the following to take part:
2 “blood bikes” which will lead and bring up the rear of the Parade
Fire service truck
3 BMBC services vehicles inc. bin lorry, recycling truck
Classic cars carrying the Mayor and the former Mayor and Deputy Mayor
Vehicle float
St John’s Primary School
Walking floats
Branching Out Dancing
Girlguiding Barnsley West
??TBC Float representing the Penistone Young Farmers Association
I am attaching the Parade participation form and invitation letter in the hope that we might get a few more!
Can I also remind everyone that we are still collecting nominations for our own Penistone Heroes – I know there are many unsung heroes out there in the Penistone community who deserve to be celebrated, so if you know any of them do please send in your nominations; you can send them to this email address Admin@pentowncouncil.gov.uk
Many thanks for your time and best wishes
